Six Mail Folders in Containers

Well... Things are a bit different in Big Sur.

No longer is there a ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail—> it reverts to ~/Library/Containers/Mail.mail

and I do see the same thing multiple "mail"

So no further insight here except to corroborate you are not alone....and I can not blame this as your un-described "periodic issues "

In older macOS pre Big Sur it was one way of sorting Mail anomalies was to create a new folder within the Container—no longer applicable.

Another classic way to sort Mail anomalies is to delete the Mail Account and add it back in
