Safari: Gmail Insert Photo does not show any photos (google photos)

This should not be tough to do and becomes yet another reason to not use Safari and work completely in Chrome.

There should not be a 15 step process to figure out the simple operation of inserting a photo into an email. If anyone has a solution please let me know as I have looked at developer modes, tab modes etc. Going to google photos shows everything, but during a gmail insert nothing shows up.

"Insert photo" in Gmail suddenly stopped working I've been using the Insert Photos tool in Gmail for years to include photos in the text of my emails, but it has suddenly stopped working. I've restarted my computer, cleared my entire browser history and even uninstalled and re-installed my browser (Chrome), to no avail.
