2013 MacBook Air won't recognize external monitor
Hi,
My MacBook Air won't recognize my new LG monitor using a Phillips Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter...no matter how many times I press the 'Detect Displays' button
https://support.apple.com/kb/sp678?locale=en_US
https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27mn60t-w-led-monitor
It says right there on Apple's website this should work
"Thunderbolt digital video output:
- HDMI audio and video output using third-party Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (sold separately)"
The same LG monitor works with my older 2012 Macbook pro using the same adapter, so it shouldn't be a matter of age.
I've also tried a Dell external monitor and it was not recognized by the 2013 MacBook Air...no matter how many times I press the Detect Displays button.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
