UPS lost my iPhone 12 Pro on December 16

On December 16 my iPhone 12 Pro was out for delivery when suddenly the tracking changed to “in transit”. I waited until December 18th and when the status remained in I emailed UPS. They confirmed that there was an issue and I would need to contact Apple to start an investigation. I contacted Apple the same day and I was told it could take up to 15 business days for them to complete an investigation. I called Apple on January 11th and was first told “it appears your phone is still in transit”. I insisted that the rep look deeper and they discovered that I had in fact opened a case on December 18th. They told me I just had to be patient and wait to be contacted by Apple with the outcome of the investigation. It’s now the evening of January 13th and I’ve heard nothing from Apple. Has anyone else had a lost package investigation take a month or longer? Does anyone know of any other route I could take to contact Apple?
