List of users in Permissions

I had occasion to look at the list of users in my Permissions for my Macintosh HD on my MacBook Pro (Big Sur). This is what I saw—

I'd expected to see my account name in the list, but I've read in this forum that I should not expect that. Okay ... but what is "wheel"? He/she/it has Read & Write privileges, so I'd like to know.
