icloud photos

so my photos couldnt fit in the icloud 50gb option, so a little less than half where not there so i decided to upgrade it. also it said “not enough icloud storage”. then i paid for the 200g where i know my photos fit but it says the same thing. “not enough icloud storage”. what should i do?

It's referring to a lack of storage space on the device. Make sure you're using the Optimize Phone Storage feature (it's turned on) and see the following --
