FIXED!! CANT RESTORE WHATSAPP CHAT HISTORY ON NEW PHONE

I want to post this because after so many failed attempts and solutions that did not work, I FIXED IT and i want to share how!!

when I restores my new phone with iCloud, all of my apps started to download automatically including whatsapp, but I thought whatsapp was downloading incorrectly because all other apps kept loading while this one was stuck for like an hour, so i erased it and downloaded it again and THAT IS THE PROBLEM. DONT DO THAT!

After so many attempts to restore my chat history I read a comment that said exactly this and it worked. Reset your iphone again (erase all contents and settings). Then restore from icloud as you did before but allow whatsapp to automatically download at its own pace. Mine took all night charging and connected to wifi and IT WORKED. Didnt have to restore the chat history, I just entered whatsapp and it was all there.
