HomeKit: Temperature Automation with Eve

There were previous questions on using temp sensors as a an automation trigger. When selecting "New Automation" and "A Sensor Detects Something", temperature sensors are not selectable for the sensor that will start the automation. APPLE: Recommend adding temperature sensors to trigger automation.

With regards to using the Eve App, I agree with previous comment from 2018, HomeKit will "see" automation in their list once programmed into Eve, but sense it does not recognize a temperature increase or decrease past a value as a trigger, it does not trigger the automation. Unknown why Eve cannot signal the automation in HomeKit through the automation programmed in its App. Anyone see a different solution?

Oh, and why is HomeKit not a topic category that I can select? Is apple not fully behind supporting this capability and competing with Google and Amazon in home automation?
