All-Day Calendar Events

Why can't I mark an all-day calendar event on my iPhone as "free" or "busy"? It defaults to "busy" and I have no way to change it. I am using Apple's native calendar app and creating an event on my iCloud calendar.

Where did iOS calendar "events affect availability" move to in iOS 16 I’ve noticed a couple of my calendars will not let me set the busy or free information when I create an event on the calendar and these were the calendars where in iOS 15 I had used the option for events affect availability and turned it off. Now, I don’t seem to be able to toggle this on or off on my calendars anymore, leaving these calendars in a state where the events cannot be set to busy. The option used to be in calendar, calendars, and tapping the information button to the right of a particular calendar on iCloud.

Try restarting the device or toggling Calendar off/on to see if that might help.
