Lost contacts

I recently did the last update for my iPhone and all my contacts are gone except a small percentage that aren’t really of any use just non business contacts ... how do I restore my contacts ?

Try - If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud - Apple Support.
