Safari won't launch after updating to Sierra from Yosemite

I just updated our late 2013 27" imac at work to Sierra from Yosemite (10.10.5). There are very few applications installed on this imac (did a 1st Time Machine backup and it was only 46GB), just Adobe Creative Cloub (extortion) 2015 Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat along with PDFSam and Firefox. Most of the other apps were there from new with the OS. Every app including Firefox works after the upgrade. ITunes did not launch at first saying it was till updating but after going to updates in the App store a few other things updated and after 2 restarts iTunes now works. Not sure what version it is on.

Wasn't the Sierra upgrade supposed to include the latest version of Safari when the last version of Sierra was released?

Any help would be appreciated because I have a mid 2010 27" imac at home on 10.10 Yosemite that I think i need to update to 10.12.x Sierra in order to update iTunes to connect with my iPhone SE which is now on ios11.2.6. The phone is running slow, probably cause by Apple slowing it down and I was told if I go to ios13 (which my version of iTunes wants to update to but I thought it was not possible due to Apples dumb policy of not signing older versions on the iphone) or ios14 that I was need a never version of iTunes which would run on 10.12. I can't go beyond that because of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5.

Upgrading the latest OSX is not possible on this machine and I can't go much farther and still run my older versions of Adobe Creative Suite and Quark, etc.

I verified the disk with the First Aid utility and it found no problems but I will repair permissions to be safe.

When I tried to lauch Safari today, it bounced up and down for a while and then finally loaded. It is not my primary browser, I use Firefox, but I know it's good to have the OS supplied browser working as the help system uses it.

Thanks for the help.

Not Solved!

I have 2 pending questions on 2 different imacs. Could not edit the above reply. I was emailed that the questions had been answered but am home and the work computer has the Safari problem after updating to Sierra.

Will try the disk utility on the work imac to see if that resolves. Re-installing the OS probably would not work as it was a new install of Sierra. Upgrading to the lastest OS not possible due limitation of the mac and 32bit software installed.
