Is it okay to just fold/close my MacBook Air M1 mid-use? Would it spoil anything?

As long as the battery had a reasonable amount charge left before and if for a reasonable length of time. Personally, would not keep it closed this way for 8 - 10 hours.
Not really. Once in this mode it will consume low amounts battery power but as much as if it was open and in use
So, do you recommend that i don't just fold/close my macbook mid use? Because i asked apple staff in the stores they said that it should be fine as folding/closing your macbook screen mid use is same as putting it on sleep mode.
