Mac min 2020 (M1) Vertical Orientation

Hi,

I recently purchased the new M1 Mac mini and I was wondering is it safe (in terms of performance, cooling etc.) to place the Mac mini vertically?

Mac Mini on its side (slow wifi) 2020 M1 Mac Mini. I was trying to trouble shoot slow wifi speed ... M1 MM was getting about half the throughput of the MBP I had right beside it. I read on the forum here that one of the suggestions was to put the MM on its side, since the Wifi antenna is in the bottom, and aim the bottom towards the Wifi AP. Crazy, right? NOPE. Huge improvement. I did three back-to-back test with the MM in its normal orientation, then on its side, then normal, then on its side.... (results) So my question is: Is there a downside to running the Mini on its side long term? Mostly used for light tasks, but occasionally used for significant 4k/6k video editing sessions.

Why the MacBook Pro's (M1) screen is pointed at the left bottom corner? Has anyone noticed that the MacBook Pro's (M1) screen is pointed at the left bottom corner, unlike the rest of the corners? If yes, then do you know why?

Is it OK to mount an M1 Mac mini face down? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be. It has SSD storage so the only moving part is the fan. I want to have it under my desk in a bracket designed for that purpose.

Other than the fan itself, there are no moving parts, and as long as that revised orientation does not interfere with normal cooling of the mini, a vertical arrangement should not matter.
