Problems with USB-stick in Finder

Hi!

I have an USB-stick (Philips) already for a while and it was working fine on my MacBook until yesterday. While transferring documents, I got a message that the stick was removed wrongly without me doing anything. Today, I tried to open the stick again, but it did not become visible in Finder and therefore I could not open the documents on my stick. It worked on a Windows computer, but I normally always use Mac. Although the stick is not visible in Finder, I can see it in the 'System Information'.

I also have the same problem with an external hard drive for some years now as I am also not able to find this one in Finder. Maybe this problem could be solved the same way?

Could someone please help me to get to the documents on this stick?

Thanks in advance!

you may want to try some basic troubleshooting techniques and see whether that resolves things.

  1. Reset SMC by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset SMC. If that does not solve things then-
  2. Reset NVRAM/PRAM by following the directions applicable to your MacBook here ➔ How to Reset NVRAM/PRAM. If that does not solve things then-
  3. Enter ➔ Safe Mode and see if the screen issue still exists in Safe mode. Log out of Safe Mode and then reboot computer.
