I have read on other sites that some routers can be configured so that the only connections to the internet are through ethernet connections. Is it possible on an airport extreme to turn off the wireless connections to computers/phones etc. without turning off the connection through ethernet?
Sure, if the Airport Extreme is already set up as a WiFi router, just turn off the WiFi function on the device using AirPort Utility.

Thanks for the help. Is there a way to make it remember the name and password of the network it was creating before turning it off, so that I don't have to retype it every time?
