‘16 MacBook Pro w/Touch Bar battery just died without any warning

So come to find out my Apple plus warranty expired back in September and one day the computer was acting perfectly fine then next day after powering off and restarted I got a bartender health warning saying serious battery failure. I’m currently in school and the only way for the computer to work is if it remains plugged in. Kinda defeats the purpose of a portable laptop. Has anyone else had these issues. I know Apple released a recall on 13.3” non-touch bar batteries but aren’t they the same. I don’t have any antivirus or other programs burger than Firefox, chrome and Microsoft suit (word, PowerPoint and the like). Is anyone having issues like me? Apple won’t even take my tech support calls as my Apple plus expired in September which just two months prior to September my touch at stopped working and screen as well. They did fix both but I’m wondering what they might have done to degrade the battery. Just so strange one day working fine the next, battery won’t hold a charge and is recommended for serious maintenance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to spend a few hundred dollars that I don’t have as a student in a inferior windows chromebook or the like.

Thanks for your reply however I just found that I was incorrect it’s a ‘17. Somehow my Apple plus and tech phone support expired I September right after I had both the screen and Touch Bar replaced. I’m wondering if whist they were working on the Touch Bar the batter suffered as it just went out, without any warning for service. I have 35 cycles within system information under power. I’m also wondering about an ups device as there was an option that said “ups installed? No”.

Every one I know that has a Mac or some experience sates that there is always some warning of charging issues or battery depletion. But one day it’s was fine with a perfect bill of health, charged it overnight and then find that the batter died and the computer will only work if continuously plugged in. The second I unplug it it powers off. Also every startup I get a big black notification that the screen contrast has been updated is is on high. I’ve tried to go through setting and there isn’t anything to warrant an increase in contrast.
