I think the question was not primarily how to re-set password but rather why touch ID isn't permanently enabled. I repeatedly successfully use my touch ID many times consecutively, but then seemingly after a set number of logins a typed password is required, which is irritating.

Thank you for responding to my question. I did not expect actual customer service!
I suggest extending the 48 hour time frame to something much longer on computers that do not have any sharing enabled. Or at least giving the user an opt in capability there.
