Can't enable system extensions on MacBook Air M1 2020

Hi everyone. I have a new MacBook Air M1 2020. I'm trying to enable system extensions so that I can install FUSE, but I'm having a problem. As per the "Security & Privacy" control panel prompt instructions, I boot into Startup Security Utility. When I enable kernel extensions, it will not accept the change and throws the following error:

com.apple.BootPolicy.UpdateTagError error 11

Anyone know how to resolve the problem?

Hello SpaceLiz,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with changing a your Mac security settings.

Please verify you follow the instructions provided here: Change startup disk security settings on a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support

This article also has some info about system extensions, and states: About system extensions and macOS - Apple Support

“If necessary, please contact the developer to learn whether an updated version of their software is available or planned. They may also be able to explain how to remove or disable the extension, and the consequences of doing so.”

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
