Black screen one white vertical line in right hand corner

Sounds like you likely have a bad display that needs to be replaced. You may be able to use the laptop by using an external display although you will likely need to enable Clamshell Mode by closing the lid on the laptop to force the video to the external display. This will require the use of an external keyboard and mouse.
