I have the same issue.

If I open my Mac fully, the screen goes black, but if I open it halfway, it works.

I am trying to update my Mac software to see if it would fix the issue, but the software download keeps giving me errors after downloading for hours.

The service centre I called here in Lagos, Nigeria, says there is no free diagnostics if I am out of warranty! and they are already talking about changing the screen - a service that would cost over $600 according to them, which I cannot currently afford.

Is there any easier way around this for me?

Black screen fully open
