Software update

I have an iPhone 6s, currently running on software version 13.7. Each time I am advised of a software update I either leave it to run overnight, which fails, or try to run the update straightaway while connected to power, but this also fails! The latest update advice is for iOS14.3, which needless to say has failed. Has anyone any idea on how to fix this? Thanks.
