why Skype disappears from my MacBook Air M1 after 2-3 days and I have to download it again?

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’ve downloaded Skype but it then disappears from your Mac and has to be downloaded again. We’ll be happy to help.


Did you download it from the Skype website and then install and use it successfully? If not, are you downloading it and going through the steps of the installation process, then closing it, but when you come back it’s not on the Mac anymore?


When you install Skype, let’s make sure you’re double clicking the .dmg file and then dragging the Skype icon into your Applications folder. Open it from there and sign in.
