The Pages User Guide for Mac, and the Pages Support Site. The Pages User Guide is also accessible from your Pages v10.3.9 Help menu. If your questions extend beyond finding the answer on these support resources, then post a question here.
When you add a photo to Pages, whether by drag. and drop; the Media tool, or via the Insert menu > Choose… approach, it will automatically be selected upon insertion. You should also see a Style panel appear on the right side of the application, and at the bottom of that panel, you click on Caption.
That opens a text box along the bottom of the image with the word caption centered. You click on the word caption, and your style panel now switches to a Caption panel where you can control font attributes and even left-align the text you enter in the Caption box.

Okay. I just dragged and dropped an image into Pages v10.3.9, the Style panel is exposed, and you can see that the caption is selected, and appear below Chester…
and when I click that Caption placeholder text…
I appreciate your time. The sidebar displays : Style Layout More
when I select Style there is no option that I find for Caption
the guide is not clear ; am directed to select "caption" after selecting the format
that option does not appear
I didn't write that guide (cough), and the best documentation is the answers you receive here. Did you follow my dialog and see how the caption is applied to an image?
ok thank you for steps
You are welcome.
