Does restoring back up on one device affect all devices

I want to go back to find an old text thread. If I restore my iPad to an old iCloud back up will that also affect my MacBook and iPhone or will that back only be on my iPad? I don’t want to lose everything from the past two weeks on my phone or Mack book but willing to lose them on my iPad.
