I just bought a used 2012 MacBook Pro and it’s stuck on macOS EL CAPITAN. Is there anything I can do to upgrade it? Can I buy a new software? Please help me

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Catalina through the link provided.

Click on Catalina above, using a web browser other than Firefox. Older OS versions won't appear in a search.

I looked up macOS on the App Store and it only shows Big Sur and isn’t compatible with my mac
