Links in Whatsapp messages not clickable

I have an iPhone SE. When I receive certain messages with links they are not clickable. They appear as plain text, not blue or underlined. The original message viewed on the sender's device has clickable, blue, underlined links. The same message sent to someone else's device (both iPhone and Android) also has clickable links.

It is not universal. Some messages received have clickable links, but it seems that messages with many links cause this error.

The sender's contact details are saved on the phone.
