fn/globe key not working

(not a huge deal but it bugs me a lot) the fn/globe key on my M1 MBA cannot change my input method in default settings. I don't think it is a mechanical issue since when I change the key usage to the show emoji/ enable the voice input, the key is still working. Just when I set it to change the input method, the input option had not shown up. Can anyone help?
