Temporary SIM swap disabled receiving text messages from Verizon users. On the advice of my carrier Cricket (Att network) I reset Network Settings. That did not fix the problem.
Since the problem began a few days ago after a temporary Visible SIM card swap that failed to activate, I now suspect it’s caused by an issue with my phone and not the carrier.
Any good suggestions appreciated as right now my wife can no longer text me.

SMS and MMS messaging are carrier features. Your phone has nothing to do with it.
Contact your carrier again and escalate the call.
Poor support is par for the course when using discount carriers like Cricket... there's a reason their service is cheaper.
Ask your carrier for help.
As I mentioned I already did.
Because it was a hardware swap I strongly suspect my iPhone and not my Cricket, whom I’ve had for years.
We can't help with SMS. Only the carrier can.
I have to say poor service is an epidemic with ALL U.S. mobile carriers. I’ve tried them all.
