Blender 3D software with Apple's new chips

Apple just killed a huge amount of software I use by nixxing everything 32-bit. Now I've heard that Apple's transition to Metal will mean that all software using OpenCL / OpenGL will also be nixxed. Several weeks ago I bought a new top-shelf iMac and I'm wondering if I've wasted my money. I bring up this frustration because I use Blender software to create 3D images, and Blender relies on OpenCL / OpenGL. If OpenCL / OpenGL are going to be disallowed, I'll return the Mac and get another Linux machine. Any ideas about a timeline for Apple nixxing OpenCL / OpenGL?
