Can a Stylus or Apple Pencil be used to hand write notes on applications?

Hello, I would like to know if there is capability to use “scribble” type function with the 2019 MacBook Pro 16” and Big Sur iOS ? Can a stylus or the Apple Pencil be used to hand write notes on applications like Evernote, notes, pages, messenger, etc?
