iCloud Photos on Macbook?
Hi all,
If using iCloud for all my storage photos, I assume all photos on my MacBook will be downgraded to lower resolution, even if I add new pics from the Mac itself, correct?
Thanks,

The photos on your Mac will only be optimized if you have Photos > Preferences > iCloud > Optimize Mac Storage turned on and then only if your Mac is low on space.
See the following description from Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support
On your Mac:
If you turn on Optimize Storage, iCloud Photos automatically manages the size of your library on your device. Your original photos and videos are stored in iCloud and space-saving versions are kept on your device. Your library is optimized only when you need space, starting with the photos and videos you access least. You can download the original photos and videos over Wi-Fi or cellular when you need them. You can use Optimize Storage on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac.

Assume this was the method - was hoping I could just optimize space all the time, instead of only when Mac is low on space. TY
