Cannot Remove Google Drive from Time Machine Backup

Hello all,

Recently I have been getting an error that I don't have enough space on my backup drive and upon investigation it seems Time Machine is trying to backup my Google Drive - which I don't need it to. When going into the settings to remove it from the backup, it is grayed out and I cannot remove. Any suggestions?

Well your screen shot indicates Google Drive is not being backed up by TM. As a matter of regular maintenance it is wise to change out Time Machine drives about 1x every 4-5 years and to also use one that is 2-3 times the capacity of the data it will be backing up.

What this means is it may be time for you to upgrade your TM EHD. If you decide to do this, what experienced users on these forums prefer is one of the following: OWC Mercury Elite Pro for the reasonable price, high degree of reliability, ease of maintenance and the high level of service OWC provides. If you are outside the USA, you can find them from one of OWC many international resellers. To find one near you click OWC Resellers
