Problems install hotmail on macbook air 2020 Big Sur

I try to install my hotmail account on a brand new Mac book air 2020 with the latest Big Sur and it will not work.

I use the installation menu and Mail < add acount < choose another account

when this is done I fill in my mailadress and password and press Log in

After that I got the answer "Cant verify account name or password "

When this answer comes up it repeats the correct mailserver name, I believe......

Imap: imap-mail.outlook.com

Smtp: smtp-mail.outlook.com

Anyone that has a clue what the problem is?
