Audio connection from MacBook Pro to av receiver

Hi,

I have a 2020 Thunderbolt 3 MacBook Pro, I have a USB-C dell dock.

I have two 4k monitors, one connected to the MacBook direct via usb-c, the other via DisplayPort through the dock.

I would like to connect a Sony STR-DG820 for audio. I have tried to connect the receiver to the dock with HDMI, however sometimes the video signal changes on DisplayPort monitor. Also no sound comes through the av receiver.

is there a way to connect the MacBook to this av receiver?

I think this is what you are looking for:

USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Apple. It has HDMI and, with the female Thunderbolt port, you will not lose the port for other usage, such as charging your Mac
If need be, use this for Audio: USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter

Not Working:

For one, it isn't working as intended.

Brand-for-Brand:

Secondly, I would go brand-for-brand (Apple-for-Apple). Though not necessary, it would bring more reliability between devices (based on personal experience).
