Catalina VPN has no profile and can't be removed. Blocks replacement

I replaced an 2019 iMac with a new MBP with Catalina installed using Migration Assistant

There was a VPN set up on the iMac and was transferred in the Network System Preferences to the MBP, however, there is no profile shown and the VPN does not function.

Reinstalling the VPN creates a profile, but does still does not connect. It appears the data in both VPN setups in network are the same (same account name etc.), but only one profile exists in profiles. Removing the profile will remove only one VPN in the network preference and the problem VPN remains.

How can I remove it?

Thanks for any assistance.

Maybe this is not an issue...

A true VPN tunnel, for example between you & your job, or a Bank server would be of value, otherwise might be time to re-think the usage.

Thank you for the reply.

This is a private VPN. The issue is related to MacOS, not the VPN per se.

When I transferred the system from one computer to the other, the VPN is still listed in the Newtwork window in System Preferences, but the corresponding Profile in the Profiles window is missing. My question is; Is there a way to remove the VPN listing from the Network System Preferences window other than removing the profile (which already is missing)

I presume the fix is related to the nteworkextension plist but I don't want to so damage.
