2018 MacBook Pro stuck "A critical software update is required"
Hello I have a 15" 2018 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. It was working just fine with the original High Sierra Mac OS. I recently tried to do an upgrade to Big Sur. After waiting for hours to download and a few reboots it is now totally stuck at the error message "A critical software update is required". Before starting I backed up everything to Time Machine. I have tried USB boot to Big Sur installer - no luck. I have tried Command+R recovery and wiped the hard drive - still no luck. I found I can get past it into Safe mode by pressing left Shift when booting but it runs crazy slow to the point of being useless. Is there a fix ? It seems to be stuck in a "catch-22" where it can't boot to get software updates to fix itself.
