Locked acct/ApplePay after a payment was recently received and not locked then🤔

I sent a friend money in text messages using Apple Pay. He’s a New Apple User (I call us #GangGang🙅🏻‍♀️)

and he is now trying to return that money OR just simply decline accepting it but when we try, an error message pops up saying that his account is locked or not accepting payments...how do I get my money back?

iPhone 12 mini, iOS 14

if you both do nothing it will expire a week after you sent it then a week after that return to you. He can go here to get it unlocked - If your Apple Cash account is restricted or locked - Apple Support
