.why can i not block some phone number on sms

Pls specify. Are you saying that number is same one blocked - yet it is not filtered out and appears as if not blocked?
or is sender using a new source number with same message? Remember - blocking only applies on YOUR device. Sender has no affect on their end. It only hides the message from you - even though you do receive them.
advise using your carrier’s spam reporting system to list the semder message and then source number. I personally use VZW. It requires copy and sending the text and source number (in 2 operations) to their 7-726, plus performing the block..... but after reporting for about 2 weeks all of my spam/junk to them - it ALL was stopped!
This may be a bit timely but it is free and it works - so far. The aps that cost money don’t do any more than that.
this procedure I do exactly every time I receive some unwanted messages on SMS from e.g. insurance offers or from loan companies .. but some individuals can not be blocked, even if you do these steps..and I have done these attempts over several times .....
