If I forgot to sing out of iCloud on a iPhone 11 Pro Max I sold, can I remove it from my devices list and the person can just then sing in with their Apple ID?

Signed out of iCloud and erased device Hello! I recently signed into my iCloud with a new phone. The phone had to be returned bc of issues so I signed out of iCloud , and then erased the device. Is it possible that my Apple ID is still associated with that first device? ICLOUD LOCK PHONE Hello Team, Some of us get used phones from family members as gifts and other reasons but the problem is that,the phone might have an icloud account on it which has not been removed.This makes it impossible for the next user to be able to use it .In some cases,users are not able to contact the person who gave the phone out or even explain what the problem is to the person.How does the average user get to use this device if he/she does not have any means of getting the lock removed.?
