I was typing up a Microsoft document and then my laptop died and when it turned back on and I opened my word document I was no longer allowed to type as a message saying 'You can't make this change because the selection is locked'. Help, what do I do? I've googled answers, but nothing is helpful.

It sounds as though you're having issues typing in an existing word document as it's stating that it's locked. To clarify, are you having issues with all Word documents, or this one specific document?
