50% battery after being fully charged and switching off.

January 2021

I have a 6th generation iPad, version 13.3., which I barely use.

I have fully chagred my Ipad, I have switched off, and when I switch on I am only 50% charge, why?

What do I need to do? There are no open windows or apps.

Many thanks

iPad, iPadOS 13

If fully shut-down, a 50% loss of battery charge over a period of three days is certainly greater than might be expected.

Your initial post suggests that you iPad has iPadOS 13.3 installed. If so, you might consider updating your iPad to iPadOS 14.3 - which is current - and then re-evaluate battery performance from a state of full charge.

How long was your iPad iPad “switched-off” - between being fully charged and your subsequent observation?

Battery charge will decline, through self discharge, whilst the iPad is turned-off. Have you fully shut-down the iPad after charging - or is the iPad simply in its sleep state?

The iPad in its sleep state continues to run background processes.

50% battery after being fully charged and switching off.
