FCP import from Photos - photo taken date lost
The photo in this example was taken in October...which shows in Photos info. This is lost when importing using the built-in tool to get things from Photos.
iMac Pro, macOS 11.1

Try switching the metadata view to EXIF:
IPTC is likely import to you as a pro. I'm simply seeing a photo taken date that SHOULD show up in SOME field in FCP....and doesn't. Was curious if I was missing the field selection. Thanks for looking Tom.
If I have the image selected in the Photos library I don't see the date there either in IPTC.
I use CMD-I in photos and see date
Yes, I see that too. It doesn't look as if the iPhone uses the IPTC data protocol.
try win the prize. There it is! Thanks
well....NOT for this MOV out of Photos. Data lost. I've tried turning on every date field avaialable in Metadata of FCP. Import was using the photos connection in FCP.
I think Luis said EXIF. Did you look in there?
yes, I just made one with all the date stuff I could find. EXIF didn't help.
kinda crazy that date exists and is lost in import.
Is the content created not showing correctly in the browser list?
gosh, that was too easy! thanks
