Hello NareshGG,

We understand the importance of having your Mac responding so you can complete the installation. We'll be glad to assist.

Please try the steps here to force quit an app: If an app freezes or quits unexpectedly on Mac

Once that is complete, shut down your Mac. Use this for guidance: Log out, sleep, restart, and shut down Mac

Try restarting in safe mode. Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, completes a basic check of your startup disk, and clears cache. Here's how to restart in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac

Try installing Adobe again.

If you need more help, please let us know.

Take care.

The app which is Adobe has not frozen, in fact i removed in in an attempt to get past the frozen up date.

So i am updating Adobe acrobat.

And the update froze with the message: Your computer can’t be restarted now, because software is being installed.

Adobe Reader XI (11.0.10) is being installed. Interrupting the install may damage your computer. You can restart when the install is complete.

It isn't updating and the dialogue box has sat there for 3 days now. When i try to restart the computer it won't let me because it says that an installation is in progress.

How do i restart the computer?
