Changing hue of blacks/dark colors on my Macbook

Hi! Why is it that sometimes, the hue of the blacks or dark colors on my Macbook, especially apps that are made by apple, change their hue randomly to a purple-ish color (as shown in the photos below).

I've tried changing a few things on the Display settings on System Preferences, it goes away for a while. but it still keeps coming back randomly.

Hope you guys can help, thanks!

Greetings, Glennjoshua67!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're seeing issues on the MacBook Air screen with the hues. First, consider the environment in which this happens. Does this seem to happen only when you’re at home or at certain parts of the day? If so, the colors might be adjusting to match the ambient light so that images appear more natural. Check out this article to Use True Tone on your Mac. If you notice this happening in multiple locations or during varying times of day, turn True Tone off, then on. To do this, click on the Apple menu > System Preferences > Displays > True Tone.

You'll also want to check out this article If your Mac display doesn’t look right for additional steps you can try.

Next, we recommend taking a look at this article with steps to follow for How to use safe mode on your Mac. This will perform checks and stop certain software from starting up automatically. Once you are in safe mode, test to see if you have the same issue.

We also suggest follow thing these steps to Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac and create a test user to see if the issue is user specific or system wide.
