Apple TV subscription

I just bought a brand new Iphone SE and as part of the offer, the network provider gave me 1 year's free subscription to Apple TV, worth £4.99 per month. I've downloaded the app and installed it on my phone so now I can watch programmes on the Apple TV channel on my phone. The problem is my phone's screen's very small and not really suitable for watching tv. I want to cast the video from my phone to our tv but this is proving extremely difficult. I have a "Smart TV" and a Google Chromecast connected to the TV, which enables me to stream most things to the tv including youtube and Zoom, among other things. However neither the phone or the tv will let let me cast the picture from my iphone to the tv screen. Anyone know of a way to achieve this? Otherwise the 'free offer' from the network provider seems fairly useless. Thanks, Steve

It may depend upon your hardware. You can stream to an AppleTV to which your regular TV is attached (or just use the Apple TV alone). Some TVs such as recent ones by Samsung also have the capability of receiving Airplay from Apple devices.

As mentioned it depends on your tv. Some of the newer ones are able to cast AppleTV+ content. Others even though they are smart TVs can not unless you have an Apple TV device (the Apple TV 4K box for example) connected to it. You can also watch on other iOS devices if you have them like an iPad or MacBook
