I just spent over $1000 for an Iphone 12 on this site and it did NOT even come with a power chord or headphones. WHY???

Why didn't my extremely expensive Iphone 12 come with a charging chord or ear phones?

iPhone 12, iOS 14

Because Apple announced before the iPhone 12 was released that new devices would not come with adapter or headphones. It DOES come with the syncing cable though. If you purchased one that did not and you purchased from Apple or an authorized retailer you need to contact them.

Even though I can see why this is upsetting to someone who is not aware of this, I also have to say that you should check what you are buying and what is included beforehand.

If you have a Lighting to USB-A cable (from a previous iPhone) you can just continue to use that. Charging times will be a little bit longer if you use the 5W Charger but it isn't as bad as people sometimes say. Same with headphones, maybe you already have a pair. A small Lighting to 3.5mm jack adapter dongle is 10$ and will let you connect any non Lighting headphone.

Apple did this, so they can shrink the size of the box, allowing them to ship double the amount of boxes as before.

Another argument is that most people have chargers and cables already (I still have the cable of my iPhone 12 in the box because I continue to use the 5W charger and cable I already had from a previous iPhone) and many people only use bluetooth headphones these days.

I did contact the seller which was apple.com. They basically said, "Tough titties! For ENVIRONMENTAL REASONS we don't give out chords with the sale of our very expensive phones. You need to go order and pay more for a chord from our sales site."

My old phone was a Samsung, a much more affordable, user friendly phone which came with free earphones and charger. I am very disappointed with this iphone12 and the lack of service. Now I am asking, "Why did I switch to a company that uses planned obsolescence to profit from unsuspecting first time users. Time to spread the word and let everyone know...JUST DON'T!
