M1 goes into sleep mode while i am actively working on the computer

I have had my brand new MacBook air for 4 days and it goes into sleep mode while i am actively working on the computer and i cannot get it to "wake" at all, and am forced to restart. Any ideas? I am so frustrated.

This is a known bug in the current release Big Sur v11.1 and earlier where the Screen Saver pops up without reason. Several workarounds have been suggested, the most popular is to close the display for a few moments to lock the screen, then open again and unlock with whatever method you prefer (Touch ID, password, Apple Watch). However this doesn't seem to work for everyone.

Apple is aware of the problem, but another report will help focus their attention. Use the Feedback pages at https://www.apple.com/feedback/ to submit your bug report.
