Text messages glitch

I’ve been texting my friend that lives 6 hrs south from me in TX and lately our text messages have been glitching a LOT.

Sometimes the message doesn’t say delivered but he receives it and answers it even though the loading blue bar at the top is still showing the text is sending.

He also has an iPhoneXR and we’ve been using iMessage. All of my day’s texts to him resend really fast and it shows only my part of the conversation. His part completely disappears and all I see is my own text messages from the entire day re-send to him at a very high speed.

I’ve been texting others on iMessage and haven’t had that problem. He’s had the same glitch with other imessages he’s sent to his friends. We both have unlimited data so Idk what can be the problem or how to fix it.

Turning my phone on and off helps at the moment but the problem keeps coming back. This has been happening for 3 days straight. We do text all day long, sometimes really fast as if it was a chat room. Idk if this has something to do with the glitching. I’m also low in storage and need to buy more memory so idk if this could be a factor as well although he does have a lot of open memory.

anything helps!

Hello Catcatcat1,

We'd love to assist you with sending text messages to that one particular contact. Based on the information you have provided, let's complete these steps listed here: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and since the other person appears to have the issue with multiple contacts, we recommend providing the same steps to them as well. Please make sure to click on any words listed in blue because they will provide additional steps and information.
