Search your favourite online store for "USBC to USB adaptor". They are phenomenally inexpensive. You plug the USBC end into your laptop, and your USB stick into the spare end. The stick will mount to your desktop and you can drag and drop files from it to your heart's content.

Network the computers and use File Sharing, or email it to yourself, or get an adaptor for the old computer or an external drive.
