I woke up yesterday to find many of my contacts without names- only phone numbers! I have only had this phone for a month. Why did some of my contacts disappear?
I was told to sync my iOS phone again with my new phone. If I do this, won’t I lose New contacts I have entered since?
very frustrated!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like your contacts are not showing on your iPhone. To start, are your contacts synced from another service such as your email or iCloud? If so, make sure they are enabled in Settings > Contacts > Accounts. You can find more information in this article to Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If the contacts are from iCloud you can attempt to restore them by following the steps in this article to Restore contacts, calendars, bookmarks and more using iCloud.com.

I don’t have anywhere to click on- that shows restore contacts or an advanced section.
half of my contacts are still gone, but were there for a little over a month. Not sure why this occurred. The contacts I lost are the ones I use daily! My child, my parents, my sister.... not like someone I don’t call ever....
Same to me everyday i will lose almost half of my contacts. Did all the steps advised still the same. The worst step was to sign out/in of icloud that causes me to update my card details every single new login to icloud.
Mine disappear daily ... I have to log in to iCloud, go to Advanced and restore contacts every evening ... VERY frustrating. Started about a week ago, two months after getting my new iPhone 12.
